Puzzles are a major gameplay element in Still There, and represent the tasks that must be performed by Karl. Many of the puzzles require the player to read and interpret the contents of the Technical Manual, which uses diagrams and terse technical notation to explain the station's many controls.
Types of puzzles[edit | edit source]
System linkage puzzles require the player to set up links between two or more of the station's systems.
Star identification puzzles require the player to use the station's periscope to find a star matching the specified criteria — for example "the most radiating star in the Capsa constellation" — and send a 'ray mail' with the star's coordinates and energy output.
Carrier synchronization puzzles require the player to set the correct combination of switches to match a given signal waveform.
Robotic arm puzzles require the player to grab a supply capsule or other object with the station's robotic arm.
